For moving every day
Move first. Everything else second.
Block Instagram until you work out, or TikTok, or any app you pick. A lift, a class, a ride, a swim, a long walk: whatever the workout is, Blocky keeps the apps blocked until it lands in Apple Health, then unblocks them on its own. The feed waits for the gym, not the other way round.
Nothing to log
Any workout Apple Health records counts. Record it the way you already do: Apple Watch, Garmin, Strava, the gym's own app, the spin studio's app, whatever writes to Apple Health. The moment the workout lands there, your apps unblock. You don't open Blocky and you don't type anything.
The goal is counted from workout minutes, so a lift and a class count the same way a run does. Set it at thirty minutes a day, say, and a forty-minute class is done with room to spare, while leg day is however long the watch says it was. A workout can't be ticked off by hand. Apple Health has to show it.
Halfway unblocks some. Done unblocks the rest.
Add a milestone on the way to the goal and pick which apps it unblocks. Fifteen minutes unblocks Messages and YouTube. Thirty unblocks Instagram and TikTok. You choose the order, and the phone fills back in as the minutes come in. Open a blocked app before then and the block says what unblocks next, and at how many minutes. Phone, Settings and any app you choose are never blocked.
A rest day is a rest day
Set the habit for the days you train. Weekdays, weekends or your own set. On the other days nothing is blocked and nothing is owed. Pause it while a shoulder heals and the paused days are skipped too, so the streak keeps going. Only falling short ends it.
Your crew
Start a quest with the people you train with. Most minutes wins, the loser buys lunch, and everyone's minutes come from their own watch, so nobody can round up. Race a dozen friends for a month, or do one habit together for a week. A friend sees that you've done three of five habits, and nothing else: not the minutes, not the weight, not the meals. Miss a day and a friend can send you a streak cover that puts it back. One day is one day, not a verdict.
A bad day
Need an app before the workout? A gem unblocks it for 15 minutes. You earn gems on a sweep, a day every habit is done. Spending one shows in your history, and if you let your friends see it, they can tease you about it. That's the difference between a limit and a decision. Getting past a block never breaks a streak. Falling short does.
Questions
What counts as a workout?
Any workout Apple Health records: a run, a lift, a class, a ride, a swim, or a walk recorded as a workout. Blocky counts the minutes, so a 40-minute class counts the same as a 40-minute run.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. A workout recorded by Strava, a gym app or any other app on your phone counts once it's in Apple Health. A watch, a Garmin or a band works the same way.
Can I tick the workout off by hand?
No. Apple Health has to show it, so the block can't be talked out of.
Which apps can it block?
Any app on your iPhone: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, a game, a delivery app. You pick them when you set up the habit. Phone and Settings are never blocked, and neither is any app you add to the never-blocked list, like Maps or Messages.
What happens the next day?
The apps wait again until that day's workout is in. On the rest days you set, nothing is blocked and nothing is owed.
Can I get into a blocked app before the workout?
Yes, with a gem: 15 minutes for one, 30 for two. You earn gems on a sweep, a day you do every habit, and every one you spend is in your history. Doing the workout unblocks the app for free.
Is there an Android version?
No. Blocky is iPhone only, on iOS 26.5 or later. The first seven days are free, then $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year.
Seven days free, then one plan
Everything, at either price: $14.99 a month, or $99.99 a year. Apple takes the payment, so we never see your card, and you're not charged until the seven days are up. iPhone, iOS 26.5 or later.
