For walking more
Walk first. The feed second.
Block social media until you hit your step goal. The phone in your pocket already counts every step. Blocky keeps the apps you can't put down blocked until the step goal is there, then unblocks them on its own. No watch, nothing to log, and no minutes to buy.
Nothing to log
Your iPhone counts steps by itself and keeps them in Apple Health. Blocky reads the count there, so there's nothing to open and nothing to type. A watch counts too, if you wear one, but you don't need one. The phone is enough.
Set the goal where you are, not where a poster says you should be. The wheel starts at 100 steps and goes by hundreds to 500, then by five hundreds, all the way to 50,000. Someone getting back on their feet after an injury can set 300 and mean it. Ten thousand is on there too.
A day at the desk
Say the goal is 5,000, and Instagram, TikTok and YouTube wait for it. The walk to get coffee is a few hundred. The loop round the block after lunch is a couple of thousand. The phone counts all of it, and if you open Instagram before the number's there, the block tells you how far there is to go. When the count reaches 5,000, the feed is back. Phone, Settings and any apps you choose, like Messages or Maps, are never blocked.
Halfway unblocks some. Done unblocks the rest.
Add a milestone on the way to the goal and pick which apps it unblocks. 2,500 steps unblocks Messages and YouTube. 5,000, the goal, unblocks Instagram and TikTok, and the habit's done for the day. You choose the order, and the phone fills back in as the count climbs.
A goal, not a meter
Some apps sell you screen time by the step: a thousand steps buys ten minutes, and when the minutes run out you go and buy more. Blocky isn't a meter. Reach the goal and the apps unblock for the rest of the day, however long you're on them. The walk is the price, and you pay it once.
A rest day is a rest day
Set the habit for weekdays, or whichever days you pick. On the others, nothing is blocked and nothing is owed, and the streak carries over them. Sick, or on a flight? Pause the habit until you're back, and the paused days are skipped too. Only falling short ends a streak.
Your crew
Start a quest with the people you'd be messaging anyway. Most minutes wins, the loser buys lunch, and everyone's minutes come from their own phone, so nobody can round up. A friend sees that you've done three of five habits, and nothing else, never the count. Miss a day and a friend can send you a streak cover. One day is one day, not a verdict.
A bad day
Need an app before the steps are there? A gem unblocks it for 15 minutes. You earn one on a sweep, a day you do every habit. It costs you something, it's on the record, and your friends can see you spent it. That's the difference between a limit and a decision.
Questions
Do I need a watch?
No. Your iPhone counts steps on its own and keeps them in Apple Health, where Blocky reads them. A watch counts too, if you wear one.
What step goal can I set?
Anything from 100 to 50,000. The wheel goes by hundreds to 500, then by five hundreds. Ten thousand is on there, and so is 300.
Do steps buy minutes of screen time?
No. Reach the goal and the apps unblock for the rest of the day, however long you're on them. A milestone on the way can unblock some apps early, like Messages at 2,500.
Which apps can it block?
Any app on your iPhone: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, a game, a delivery app. You pick them when you set up the habit. Phone and Settings are never blocked, and neither is any app you add to the never-blocked list, like Maps or Messages.
What about rest days?
Set the habit for weekdays, or whichever days you pick. On the others nothing is blocked. Sick or travelling? Pause the habit, and the paused days are skipped.
Can I get into a blocked app before the steps are there?
Yes, with a gem: 15 minutes for one, 30 for two. You earn gems on a sweep, a day you do every habit, and every one you spend is in your history. Reaching the goal unblocks the app for free.
Is there an Android version?
No. Blocky is iPhone only, on iOS 26.5 or later. The first seven days are free, then $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year.
Seven days free, then one plan
Everything, at either price: $14.99 a month, or $99.99 a year. Apple takes the payment, so we never see your card, and you're not charged until the seven days are up. iPhone, iOS 26.5 or later.
